“SOCIAL AND CULTURAL ENTERPRENEURSHIP” AT “HILTON”
ΒΥ ΤΗΕ CLUB FOR UNESCO OF PIREAUS AND ISLANDS
With a great success a few days ago, the Conference on “Social and Cultural Entrepreneurship” by the Club for UNESCO of Piraeus and Islands at the “Thaleia 2” Room of the “Hilton” Hotel took place.
The first part of the speeches was opened with the greeting of the President of the Club for UNESCO of Piraeus and Islands and Vice-President of the World Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centers and Associations (WFUCA) for Europe and America, Ioannis Maronitis, who also as the President of the Synergy Development PROOPRIKI, referred to the successful implementation of the programme: “Local plans on the Employment Adjusted to the Needs of the Local Jobs Market” (Local Employment Plan), which was undertaken by the Club for UNESCO of Piraeus and Islands, as Coordinator partner of the Synergy Development “PROOPTIKI”.
Mr. I. Maronitis also referred to the participation of the Club for UNESCO of Piraeus and Islands as partner to the under formulation Synergy Developments “Attica Region ERGANI” and the “Social Venture of Peloponnese ASKEP”, which aim to operate as Regional Mechanisms of support on development and promotion of the social business synergies and generally, of the initiatives of the social economy at the Attica Region and Peloponnese Region. Next, the former Attica Region Vice-Governor of NSRF (National Strategic Reference Framework) and Innovation, Leonidas Athanasiadis, greeted the event and then the Special Advisor of the Piraeus Manufactory Chamber, Giorgos Haloftis, spoke on “Entrepreneurship opportunities and funding of activities for young men and women on the Cultural sector through the new NSRF”. Then, the Economist and Chief Executive of the Auditors Company – Business Consultants “Psarianou Office Public Limited Company”, Panagiotis Psarianos, gave the speech entitled “The Culture as factor of economic development”, whereas the closing speech was given by the Journalist Konstantinos Sgontzos on “Entrepreneurship, Culture, and Mass Media”. The Professor of the University of Bucharest at the chair of Sculpture and Dr. in Philosophy of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Konstantinos Palaiologos, greeted shortly the event.
The deputy Minister and international Academic, Triantafyllos Karayannis, as well as members of the Board of Directors of the Club for UNESCO of Piraeus and Islands also attended the conference.
Last but not least, Dr. Despina Afentouli was honored for her extremely important contribution and commitment to Journalism and Politics by the Club for UNESCO of Piraeus and Islands and the World Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centers and Associations (WFUCA) for Europe and America.
